Often we find the term “green energy” or “clean energy”. What does that mean exactly? In simple terms, this means that the source and method of energy that does not pollute the environment. The system is linked to the nature of the source and therefore, if the source is chosen correctly, the levels of pollution due to the process are required to descend.

Some of the most important sources of clean energy or green energy are solar energy, wind energy, the energy of the tidal wave and other forms of hydropower. Some argue that nuclear energy is a clean form of energy because it does not pollute the immediate environment. But the eminent scholars of the object rightly dismissed this proposal because of two reasons – the source, that is, radioactive isotopes are not renewable and nuclear waste is very dangerous.

To date, much of the electricity generated worldwide comes from burning fossil fuels like coal, gas, etc., the combustion of these fuels to generate heat and cause serious disturbance of ecological balance pollution. Many species have been eliminated due to these extreme levels of pollution, the ozone layer is depleted and people suffering from chronic diseases in many countries. The use of clean energy, with energy efficient equipment for everyday use, greatly reduce toxic emissions caused by burning fossil fuels.

However, the task of popularizing clean energy is easier said than done. The obstacle comes from both sides – the uncertainty of natural factors that are responsible for clean energy and selfish political and economic interests of the proponents of conventional energy, whose myopic view is the main deterrent.

Besides the production of energy on a large scale, some situations in which we need backup power contingency arises. Although clean energy sources, appropriate mechanisms and systems based on the battery to store the energy produced is a possibility, people prefer to use electric generators and diesel generators particular as a stand-by power equipment production.

The basic principle of operation of electric generators is diametrically opposed to that of clean energy sources. In generators fossil fuel is burned and heat energy produced by combustion of the fuel produces smoke. These vapors in high pressure conditions, is used to make engine pistons move continuously. The fixed rotor with the motor rotates synchronously with the stator at a predetermined frequency. Considering the principles of electromagnetic induction energy it is generated at a desired frequency and supplied to the necessary loads.

The main reason behind the popularity ubiquitous generators is that you can be reasonably assured of a stable supply in times of need, as the basic requirement is independent of nature. Practices and proven engineering designs, and ensuring regular supply is acting as the backbone behind the popularity of these generators.

However, regular power supply does not reduce the harmful effects of these generators. Despite advances in the engineering of these machines, pollutants emitted by gases through the exhaust pipes are far from harmless, at least compared with zero harmful effects of using clean energy sources.

Also keep in mind that for safety critical applications and contingencies, for these conventional diesel generators are often the most practical solution. This is true for small and medium enterprises, which have no provision for the maintenance of a complex set of equipment and configured for the use of clean energy. The military, scientific laboratories and health services still require high-end guarantee regular power, even over long natural calamities. For them, the diesel generators are obviously the best bet.

However, the discovery of these critical applications, it is wise for others to use clean energy sources for back-up systems. Solar energy is a clean energy source most widely used and its use should be strongly recommended to the common public, to compensate for damage caused by the use of electric generators, diesel generators, in particular for those who can not do without of normal power for a minute.

Electric generators Limited is one of the largest distributors of old and new diesel generators in the UK. There is a wide range of electric generators in its inventory, including some of the most famous brands. Pritam Dalui The author is a professional electrical engineer.
